The HALO Trust organisation visiting KGV

HALO Trust, the world’s largest humanitarian mine clearance organisation will be visiting KGV on Tuesday, 19 March at 10:35am (beginning of tutor time).

There will be 2 guest speakers from The HALO Trust organisation. One of them is the company’s CEO; James Cowan, who went to Oxford University and was involved in the war in Iraq as a major general. The other speaker visiting is Andrew Moore, the current Director of Private Fundraising & Communications who has been working the Halo Trust since 2005.

The HALO Trust mission is to lead the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict. They continue the play a part in removing landmines, but are also increasing their role dealing with the broader debris of war – small arms, improvised explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.

HALO Trust work with a wide range of donors, from governments to foundations and individuals. This is a great opportunity for students, especially those interested in NGO work, to listen to their inspiring story. Students will also be able to meet and chat with them after their talk. We hope to see you there!
