Alex Scarrow, Sci-Fi novel writer visits KGV

Alex Scarrow, British author most well-known for his science fiction series ‘TimeRiders’, visited KGV today for a talk to Year 7 and 8 students. Alex spoke on his journey and experiences writing novels across the world. The students were surprised to find out that Alex started off as a rock guitarist in a band, spending ten years in college in the music business. He then left the music world to become a graphic artist, entering the computer game industry as a designer. Eventually, Alex started his writing career and has since written a number of successful novels and several screenplays. Towards the end of his talk, students were able to purchase some of Alex’s books that were also autographed by him. There was also a wonderful opportunity for some Year 9 students when Alex conducted a Creative Writing Workshop.
