St. Barnabas Flag Day 2019

KGV Students participated in this year’s St. Barnabas Flag Day. They went around the streets of Hong Kong, aiming to raise money in support of the organisation. The students gave a tremendous effort in reaching out to different kinds of people for donations.  All donations that were raised throughout the day will be allocated to a wide range of social services which will benefit the needy in Hong Kong. It was an incredible learning experience for the students.

Flag day has been incredibly memorable for me. I didn’t realise how standing in the street for a few hours would be such a positive experience. Doing small gestures such as smiling at and greeting strangers “good morning” can make your day so much better. I was touched by witnessing the generosity of the people in Hong Kong and I would totally do Flag Day again.

Flag Day has been a very good experience for me. I met lots of new people and I also learnt how the people around us respond to such problems differently. There was a sense of satisfaction when I saw more people donating despite facing the challenge of  standing in the cold for hours.
