Year 7 Inter House Football reaches penalty shootouts

The final day of year 7 boys inter house football featured close games from all four KGV houses. Throughout the matches, some excellent football was played, as it featured some of the future prospects KGV football has for years to come.

After the tightly contested football games came to a conclusion, the results were read out to the students on the pitch. To everyone’s surprise, the overall result saw a first place draw between Nightingale and Rowell who tied in points. In fact, the goal difference could not produce a winning house as both finished with the same amount. There was only one way to settle such a dramatic finish; penalty shootouts.

Each house had 3 penalty shots each. The students who took the penalties showed great composure in front of an anticipated crowd. After 3 intense penalties from Nightingale and Rowell, it came down to sudden death. In the end, Nightingale won the penalty shootout in dramatic fashion which meant they were the overall champions of the year 7 inter house football competition.
