Our students would like to share some of their words with you…

Jennifer Ding – Obtained a total of 9A*s and one Grade 9 in all her IGCSE/GCSE subjects

Though it required some hours of hard work and discipline, IGCSEs helped to build a solid and strong foundation for IB as well as future studies and I’m happy it paid off in the end. In terms of revision, my tip to students would be to work smart, and ensure to fully understand every concept whilst knowing the theory behind it so you can use it in a versatile way, instead of simply memorising answers mechanically. However, taking adequate time to relax and do things you really enjoy is also a must. When it comes to the actual exam, always consider the way a question is presented and identify links between similar ones.

Gaurav Arya – Obtained a total of 9A*s and one Grade 9 in all his IGCSE/GCSE subjects

I feel really happy about my results. However, I know there is still lots of learning ahead during the coming two years of the IB program, so I will try to use my results as motivation to continue working hard. For younger students wishing to do well, I believe the most important point to remember is to not overwork yourself, and leave enough time for relaxation and enjoyment. For me, I achieved this by playing frequently with my cat.

Justin Li – Obtained top Grade in all his IGCSE/GCSE subjects and Highest score in IGCSE Economics in Hong Kong

What I did to prepare for the exams:

I revised the content I was taught in class when I got home., made sure I had a good understanding of all the content in the course. Practising past paper also helped test my understanding of the subject.

Tips to share: Chose subjects you enjoy so that you are motivated to work hard. Hard work is the key to success. You must understand the subject to do well in it. Do past papers to get the feeling of exam condition and work on ways to improve. Try to apply the subject skills to daily life situations to be more engaged in the course. Set targets for yourself and work towards achieving those goals.

Reflection: I am extremely delighted with my results and the IGCSE exams played an important role in preparing me for the future. The exams also built up my knowledge and wisdom and gave me an opportunity to challenge myself and work hard to achieve my goals.
