Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Certificate Giving Ceremony

KGV was teamed up with Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Programme this year. We organised a Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Certificate Giving Ceremony in order to appreciate our students time, patience, and effort for making positive impact on the kids who are from low resource families.

Here are words from our Year 12 students…

It was a privilege to participate in the Buddy Reading program. This was a fruitful experience that enabled us to learn a lot about communicating with children. Reading and interacting with the them truly made our day, and we have always looked forward to seeing their happy little faces gleam at us with joy and happiness.

Volunteering at Kids4Kids was a really enjoyable experience as the children were very enthusiastic learners. Despite the language barrier, they understood us quite well and asked many questions. It was fun to play games and do activities with them. I would recommend this opportunity for others.

Through the Kids4Kids Buddy Reading programme I have broadened my horizons on the valuable experiences volunteering can bring about. The students were very receptive learners and were definitely a joy to work with!

Kids4kids is an amazing program which allows students to help others in need. It was wonderful to be able to help the children with English and reading. If given the opportunity, I would participate with the program again.

The Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Programme granted me a great perspective where we taught children from ages of about 6-8 years old English through English reading books and special games in which engaged the children to perform their English speaking skills and interactive skills. These children certainly do have the passion to learn and to make themselves the best possible versions of themselves, but due to the struggles and problems they have, whether it is to do with them personally or the insufficient resources given by their family, their education is limited. However, once the interaction with us far more privileged students, they instantly became more engaged and wanted to learn to the highest level. This has once again allowed me to understand that passion and dreams really do exist in every individual, no matter what background they hold; with hope and hard work, any individual is able to make the best possible versions of themselves.

I enjoyed the experience a lot as I learnt new skills and experienced new experiences.
