KGV Senior Girls Hockey Team

The Senior Girls Hockey team have made a great start to their season beating South Island School 3-0 and Good Hope School 11-0.  Maya Renwick has proven to be an excellent choice for captain as she leads by example, motivates the team and works hard on the pitch to bring the best out of the team.  Our Goals Scorers so far are Maya Renwick, Katharina Gerigk, Maxine Poelmann, Kaley Arkwright. Zoe Neilson was our Player of the Match against South Island School and the whole team played so well we could not decide – so gave the whole team MVPs for the GHS match.  We are very grateful for Carla Hoffman playing Goalkeeper and as the season progresses she will be put to the test but we have good faith in her. The whole team are developing well together and we have managed to recruit new players and we have some talented Year 10s too. I am looking forward to continuing the season out until December. C grade Girls Hockey (year 7, 8 and 9) start their training in November after Challenge Week with a season that runs from January to April.
