Head of Senior School’s Message

Dear Parents,

For the last few days I have been at the IBO Global Conference listening to some very interesting presentations on various aspects of the IB Diploma and Career Related Programme. Many of these were concerning the natural review cycle of various Diploma subjects. Others described discussions taking place around proposed future changes to some of the assessments. All very positive. I also had the pleasure of listening to talks from representatives of various schools around the world about the good work they are doing in their respective schools. Some of these were focused on wellbeing and managing stress. Others on preparing students for Theory of Knowledge and critical thinking before they enter the Diploma.

I thoroughly enjoyed observing the ESF Marketing Competition at KGV today. Teams of year 12 Business and Economics students from each of the ESF schools competed against each other. They worked together to design solutions to 3 problems presented to them from a team at South China Young Post. In the end it was a team from Sha Tin College that won. I look forward to reading more about it and seeing the pictures that will be published in the Young Post.

I spoke with all year 13 students today who will be taking IB examinations in May. Students should now have been given their personal timetables. They will need to keep checking for any updates on the public timetable in case any changes are made. I mentioned about procedures that will need to be followed in the case of weather warnings as well as how to access their results on 6 July and what to do in case they wish to request a remark.

Just 2 reminders from last week. Firstly April 16 and 17 year 13 students will have fancy dress days. Wednesday, April 18 will be their last day. Parents are invited to the Graduation Ceremony. Secondly, this week has been transition week to summer uniform. Everyone should be in summer uniform immediately after Easter. For full details of uniform please click HERE.
