Certificate Giving Ceremony

KGV was teamed up with Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Programme and Saint Barnabas’ Society and Home this year. We deeply appreciated our students time, patience, and effort for making positive impact on the kids who are from low resource families, especially Y11 students, they came back to help during their study leaves.

Here are words from our students…

Farm Road Reading Program was an amazing experience. As a person who has always loved taking care of children, this program really developed this interest of mine and even more importantly, I had lots of fun! It was wonderful to be able to teach English to the kids, and it was great to see their enthusiasm in learning the language. I hope to join this program again in the future!

Faustina Yick Year 10

It was a privilege to be able to lead and take part in an amazing programme like this. Although many of the students came from low resourced families, you could tell that they had a genuine passion for learning. This experience has reminded me of how lucky we are to have the education we do now.
Charlotte Ng Year 12

It was really fun, and I loved working with the kids. It feels really good to be able to give back to the community. I would definitely do it again!

Chloris Wong Year 8

I really enjoyed my time at the Farm Road Reading Program and it was a great experience. While it could be a little chaotic at times – especially when we played games – I still had a lot of fun and I think the kids did too! My favourite part was reading with the kids and I felt that it was really fulfilling and I hope to come back next year!

Simran Rungta Year 11

I would like to say this it was a great opportunity to volunteer in Farm Road Primary School, it was genuinely fun, even though we had many difficulties such as controlling the class of many energetic kids, but it was a chance for us to grow up and be a role model to these little kids. Also, I appreciate them treating us in the end of the program as an appreciation for our hard work. Teachers there were very polite and I wouldn’t hesitate going back there again.’
