Head of Senior School’s Message
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe we are already at this stage of the school year. One more week to go yet with so much still going on around us. This week has seen the completion of the Extended Essays and the Theory of Knowledge oral presentations. In addition, we have finally managed to get through all of the examinations. Further Pure Mathematics ended on Wednesday at 8.30pm which signalled the end of the exam season. Today we welcomed the year 10 students back into their senior tutor groups for the final time before they join us permanently in August. Last night was their ‘Big Bash’, which seemed to be a success. This is a celebration to mark the end of Middle School and the beginning of Senior School for year 10 students. The last few weeks have allowed Tutors and current year 12 students to slowly get to know their fellow tutees and we look forward to having them permanently from August and watching them mature into the young adults and student leaders of tomorrow before they finally graduate from KGV in the summer of 2021.
You should all be receiving some important information through the post in the next few days. In this pack you will receive information regarding personal details that will need to be checked to make sure our records are correct, important dates for the start of term, opening times of the PTSA during the summer vacation, KGV expectations document as well as clarification of the updated dress code policy. I have included some key dates for your diaries for next term below as well as links to the suggested summer work for year 11 and 12 students. There is also the book list for year 11 students to help them to get ready for their new courses.
Just a reminder about the last day of term arrangements. Period 1 and 2 will take place as normal and in addition to assembly and tutor time year 10 students will have a talk from myself about the options process. School will finish at 12.15.
