School for one

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the Learning Enhancement Centre (LEC) Summer Showcase which was a celebration of student learning throughout this academic year. The performances were inspirational and showcased our students’ talent in music, dance, writing and recreation activities.

Our Special Education Needs (SEN) students were simply outstanding in terms of the passion and commitment they displayed in the performances. They also demonstrated high levels of talent in music and poetry as they expressed their thoughts, ideas and interpretations of the world around them.

It was also inspirational to see our ‘school for one’ coming alive and the sense of community was palpable during the showcase. The relationship between staff and students was strong, warm and generous. I commend our teachers and educational assistants for their work in fostering the best for all students. I also thank our parents for their support as I had the pleasure to work with a group of the hardest working and most passionate parents in our community!

Thank you to Jasmine Gregory, Carole Beer and the rest of LEC team for their work and commitment to the school. The event was a wonderful testimonial representing what we stand for as a school, and how we strive to create an environment of taking ‘a whole village to raise a child’.

Kind regards
