KGV Cleaned Up in the ESF Chef Finals Competition

Last Friday was the ESF Chef Finals competition at West Island School. Our Junior KGV finalists, Annika Park and Olivia Warner (year 9) and Senior finalist, Dominique Castaneda (year 10) were ready to take on the challenge to make their showstopper dishes for the judges. They had both chosen to make a dessert suitable to be presented in a Hong Kong restaurant. They were given only 2 hours to make and present their dish.

The kitchens were busy, full of action and tension. Before we knew it, time was up and the students had to present their dishes to the 4 Professional Chefs who were judging the competition. The standard was very high, as the students were up against 5 other ESF schools.

To our delight, KGV took both 1st place awards in the Junior and Senior sections. The girls hard work and dedication had paid off. The Professional Chefs were amazed at the standard of the dishes produced and asked for their recipes. A great end to a stressful but rewarding day.
