KGV Support Refugee Community

Today 20th June we observed World Refugee Day at KGV.

At tutor time, KGV, KJS and JCSRS students gathered on the school field to form a live art installation, as part of the We Are Here multimedia campaign to raise awareness for the refugee community in Hong Kong. Students showed their support by wearing colourful masks based on the artworks created by Katherine Sparrow and her campaign We Are Here.  These artworks are inspired by participants of the WE ARE HERE project based on their national identities.

We Are Here is an independent multimedia art project which our art teacher Ms. Katherine Sparrow and videographer Polly McGovern have been working with the refugee community in Hong Kong over the past year. A selection of paintings and photographs are now being exhibited in the school foyer.
