KGV Reached the HKEF Interschool Competition Final

On Wednesday 15th March the KGV A Higher Division Equestrian team competed in the final heat of the HKEF Interschool’s Competition at Tuen Mun against 4 other schools (GSIS, Canadian IS, WIS and HKIS). The KGV team of Yu An Su, Annabel Dyson, Rachel Mason and Zoe Koerber not only won this heat convincingly but accumulated enough points to qualify in number 1 position for the final at Lo Wu on Saturday 22nd April. The winner of the final in April wins a trip to the UK to train at the famous Ingestre Stables in Staffordshire.

This competition is now in its 11th year and KGV have qualified for the finals 11 times, more than double its nearest rival schools. In the final KGV will compete against Canadian IS, Harrow IS and Renaissance College.

Individually on the day Yu An won the dressage section of the competition with Annabel 2nd. In the show jumping the roles were reversed with Annabel coming 1st, Yu An 2nd and Zoe came 6th. Rachel rode brilliantly in the jumping but was unlucky to knock a pole in her last fence or she would have been the winner.

Many thanks must go to some of our lower division riders who helped on the day and to all of our fantastic parents who provide support in so many ways.
