KGV PTSA Diwali Celebration

Many students and parents joined the Diwali Celebration at the quad during lunch time today. There were food stalls set up by our parents who had prepared many traditional Indian food such as samosa, briyani and dosa. A long queue of students and teachers was attracted to get an Indian lunch set. There were also traditional dance and singing performances from our students.

Diwali, or Dipawali, is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row(avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects us from spiritual darkness.

We would like to send a big thank you to all the parents and students who helped with the Diwali Celebration.
