Head of Middle School’s Message

Dear Parents,

When all is said and done there can be no mistaking the quality of performances from all participants in Inter House Music 2018. However, there are winners and the strength and depth of Upsdell came through, claiming the title with some outstanding performances across the solo and ensemble categories. Well done to all musicians for providing a thoroughly enjoyable day of entertainment. For more musical entertainment please come and join us on the 27th March for the Spring Concert.

Questions make us stop and think. They provide an opportunity for us to reflect upon what we do as a school and look for ways in which to make improvements. Thank you to all members of our community who came to our ROAR event last weekend. Your questions do make a difference, supplying the moment to stop and think and move the school forward.

If you have never heard of the concept of Everesting, then hopefully you will be able to quiz your child about it today. The whole of KGV has risen to the challenge of climbing the height of Mt Everest by using the buildings of the school. This is to support KGV Alumni Ben Chan who is attempting to climb the 7 highest mountains across the 7 continents, with his Everest attempt coming at the end of the month. Further connection to Everest comes from Mr Sparshett who is going to be running the Everest Base Camp Marathon – to both of them we send our best wishes and support.

This hasn’t been the only moment of activity this week – Maths week has got the competitive spirit flowing. I didn’t realise so much was at stake in the relays, with fun combined with a real desire to win.

Have a good weekend.
