Earth Hour at KGV

As Earth Hour falls on Saturday 24th March this year KGV decided to celebrate the environment and our efforts to reduce the use of resources on Friday 23rd. We shared how we have made changes or set challenges for ourselves to be more sustainable. Using ENTRAK and other monitoring systems we were able to quantify and compare our usages. We also wanted to highlight the amount of energy needed to power even our most simple luxury – light. The students and staff were surprised at how much physical output would be needed to light a bulb, let alone keep it on. Hopefully with more awareness, education and action we will build a sustainable future for the next generation.
