Mine clearing- Halo Trust at KGV
We are honoured to have 2 guest speakers from The HALO Trust organisation, the world’s largest humanitarian mine clearance organisation visited KGV today. One of them is the company’s CEO; James Cowan, who went to Oxford University and was involved in the war in Iraq as a major general. The other speaker visiting is Andrew Moore, the current Director of Private Fundraising & Communications who has been working the Halo Trust since 2005. They have shared with our student about their work in Halo Trust and sharing with our our amazing leaders/charity leaders.
The HALO Trust mission is to lead the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict. They continue the play a part in removing landmines, but are also increasing their role dealing with the broader debris of war – small arms, improvised explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.
HALO Trust work with a wide range of donors, from governments to foundations and individuals. This was a great opportunity for students, especially those interested in NGO work to listen to their inspiring story.
Thank you Halo Trust!
