After screening and interview, Ernest Yip (Year 9) has been chosen by the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) to represent HK for the participation in the Asia-Pacific Forum for Science Talented (APFst), which will be held from 11 to 16 July in Taipei. APFst is hosted by the K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education, Taiwan and organized by the National Taiwan Normal University.
This forum aims for science talented students aged from 13 to 16 across the Globe. The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) totally selected 3 students with outstanding performance in Sciences to represent Hong Kong for participating in this Forum. Ernest is chosen to participate in the forum.
Participated students will attend the hands-on scientific and technological project and will be divided into multinational teams with students from other countries / regions. The forum provides students with opportunities to showcase their talent, work collaboratively and creativity in the multinational team-based student hands-on project sessions and to meet new friends and develop long-term friendship with overseas gifted students and gifted education professionals. All expenses including registration fee, living, meals and local transportation during the forum will be borne by the organisation.

“I always have a great interest in science and mathematics. I am very glad to be chosen. During this forum, I will be able to enrich my scientific knowledge, reinforce my strength and passion as an eager scientist for a better society, share my knowledge and ideas with peers from places around the globe and develop long-term friendship with overseas gifted students and gifted education professionals. This is a wonderful experience as it could allow me to collaborate with multinational teams of people from other countries. The participation could not only enhance my scientific knowledge but also further build up my interpersonal and communication skills. All these skills are vital for my personal growth and development in the future.”
