Learning Resources Centre

The Fung Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is at the heart of King George V School providing our students with world class enquiry and study facilities. Built across the whole first floor of the Peel Block the LRC comprises two well-resourced libraries, the middle school Reading Centre, informal meeting space, independent study areas, 10 study pods for collaborative learning, the school archive, dedicated exhibition space, a café with outdoor terrace and a media suite with production control room. The LRC also manages access to a huge range of academic digital subscriptions for the students to use.

The LRC is divided into two areas. The Middle School Library contains a large and growing fiction collection in which everybody should be able to find something of interest. Alongside this there is a range of non-fiction resources to support study in each curriculum area. There are also dedicated study pods for group work along with a number of comfortable seats to curl up on and enjoy a good book.

The Senior Students Centre has a physical and digital collection which fulfils the information needs of the IB student in each of their subject areas. The staff are equipped to support students with the researching and writing of their Extended Essay. We provide accommodation for collaborative work and CAS activities in our bookable study pods as well as the more traditional areas for independent study. The Senior Students Centre has everything a student needs to support successfully study.

The LRC is open all day with a dedicated team of staff on hand at all times to ensure a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who wish to use the facility.
