INFINITI LAB x KGV STARTUP BOOTCAMP

On Friday 23 November 2018 INFINITI LAB hosted 25 of our Y12 Business and Economics students at their new innovation space in Central. The day was about Entrepreneurship, Team Building, and Presentation Skills with the students ultimately developing the “Perfect Pitch”. First they learnt how to ideate by suggesting solutions to address day-to-day challenges they face in Hong Kong, then they validated their ideas with live customer interviews, and finally they proposed a business model to see their startup succeed. It was one of those experiences that was so developmental and such an amazing learning opportunity.

Mentors from a global brand along with entrepreneurs critiqued the presentations and products and worked with students as they practiced their “Pitch” on Tuesday 27 November.

The experience culminates in the presentation of their ideas to senior Executives from INFINITI, local entrepreneurs and the KGV Alliance at The LAB on the evening of 13 December in Central. At stake is a placement with INFINITI and potentially investment in one of the ideas pitched if our students can convince investors they can make money.

Thank you to the team at INFINITI for their generosity and expertise. Thank you specifically to Guillermo Ginesta, Program Manager and INFINITI’s “in-house startup expert” who led the session, Darren Plested, Head of Innovation and Business Development, who inspired us with his speech on the importance of “Teaching Entrepreneurship and Innovative Thinking in Schools”. Thank you also to LAB Team Members and Mentors Ross Garvie, Caroline Lyons and Stephanie Rose who supported the events as mentors and organizers.
