Year 7 Camp – Midway point

While the magic light switch on Monday night may not have worked the effort and energy expended over the past two days have been quite the antidote to the excitement of being on camp and sleeping in tents on the school field.
As we have got into camp routine it has been fabulous welcoming the morning with the sun rising over the tent village as students energise themselves for the day with running, swimming and yoga. Our thanks must go to Julie Dixon who is joining us each morning to take a house at a time through a yoga routine – what a pleasant way to start the day. The Jungle trail has been pounded by the members of Crozier and Upsdell who between them have covered just under 400km, while in the pool these two houses have cover the distance it would take to swim around HK Island. Rowell and Nightingale will have their turn over the next two days – I wonder how far they will get?
Day 4 of camp is our final set of day expeditions before we look forward to closing camp with our sports carnival and talent show show case.
However, it is not all about the finale and I know that one of my highlights of camp will have been the open air screening of a movie on the field, with everyone camped out on their sleeping mats with sleeping bags to snuggle down and relax in at the end of another busy day.
