Wellbeing survey – round 2

Wellbeing survey – round 2 (starts 11 March)

Next week, from 11 March, all students will be taking their second online wellbeing survey (the first was in September). As before, students will receive a personalised wellbeing report, which will be emailed to them within one week of completing the assessment.

The purpose of this assessment, in addition to helping us form an overview of where wellbeing issues may lie, and to alert us to individual students, is to empower students to reflect upon and look after their own wellbeing.Virtually all of us can learn from a wellbeing assessment. It’s not just for people who are struggling, but also for people who are doing well. After looking at different aspects of their wellbeing most people can see where they can make positive changes. Plus, the assessment looks at what’s going well and what’s not, to help building on what’s going right as well as changing what’s not.The first step to managing our wellbeing is creating our own information and being able to stand back and take a look at it.

We recognise that a single survey on one day has significant limitations, but the focus is on the conversations that arise either before or after as a result. Students are encouraged to talk to their family, friends or tutor about their results. Having conversations about wellbeing, both what is going well and what is not going so well, is a good first step towards improving wellbeing.
