Senior A/B Grade Girls Hockey

The KGV team won their HKSSF Pool comfortably seeing some excellent results against South Island, Hong Kong International School and Good Hope School. However in the semi-finals against German Swiss International School unfortunately they were given a masterclass in Hockey as several of their players play in the Premiership HK Womens’ League. We were very proud of the KGV team as they did not give up and proved that they can hold their own especially in the second half. Hopefully this has inspired and encouraged our players to take on Hockey at Club level. This loss meant that we went through to the playoff for 3rd place. On the back of 24hour Run and Inter School Cross-country the team pulled together to play a tough match against Diocesan Girls School. We frustratingly had most of the possession, but just could not see the opposition off and we lost 2-0. So we finished 4th in the HKSSF Competition. A positive and encouraging season, with new and younger players stepping up this year. A special mention and thank you to the Year 13 girls (in the picture) who have supported and played Hockey for a number of years for the KGV teams and encouraged others to play and get involved either in House or School competitions. Thank you to Carla Hoffman (who leaves us in January) whose talent as goalkeeper will be missed. We wish them the very best of luck and hope they continue to love the game of Hockey. Thank you to all.
