Message from the Principal

Feedback opportunity

As a school we always want to improve to ensure that all our students can ‘be their own remarkable’. In fact, great organisations see continuous improvement as the norm, and seek to establish cultures that are ‘uncomfortable with the status quo’. A vital way to focus improvement is to get feedback, seek to understand and then ensure this feedback is acted on.

Every five years, KGV School invites the Council of International Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (CIS/WASC) to evaluate and accredit our school. To be granted accreditation, we need to follow a detailed and specific CIS/WASC process that includes:

  • rigorous evaluation against internationally-agreed standards,
  • a blend of support and challenge focused on a school’s development, and
  • a peer-based model that brings together international educators from across the world to evaluate our school.

The CIS/WASC accreditation process helps us evaluate and consider:

  • How does our school demonstrate commitment to high quality international education to parents, students and staff members?
  • How do we ensure your school is continually improving and keeping up with leading international education standards?

The formal accreditation and evaluation visit is planned over five days in May, 2020. Before this visit, we need to engage in a comprehensive self-study that includes surveying all stakeholders including students, parents, staff, School Council, PTSA and community partners. This online survey is a mandated part of our CIS/WASC accreditation process.

Over the next week you will receive an email from the school entitled ‘CIS/WASC  Parent Survey’. Please take the time to complete the Community Survey, which will help identify the strengths of our school and areas for improvement. The survey will be sent out next week, and we will open the survey for at least two weeks. It is quite a lengthy survey, taking approximately 10 minutes to complete. If you have the time, you can complete one survey per child enrolled in the school.

I personally understand how busy our parents are at work, running a household and bringing up your children. I would appreciate very much, if you can find 10 minutes to tell us how you feel about our school and what we can do to make it better for our ‘remarkable students’.

Kind regards
