7 Feb 2018

KGV School and all secondary schools are NOT affected by the Education Bureau(EDB) decision to close some schools in Hong Kong. We remain open and operate as normal.

Please be advised that the EDB has just announced that all Kindergarten, Special Schools and Primary Schools in Hong Kong shall be closed for classes for students starting tomorrow, Thursday 8 February 2018 until after the CNY holiday (meaning affected Kindergarten, Special Schools and Primary Schools re-open for students on 26 February 2018).

As of 1100hrs 7 February, there is no evidence whatsoever of any higher than normal sickness incidence at KGV considering the time of year and cold weather.  Nonetheless, we are alert, vigilant and will monitor the situation closely.

We have reminded all students and staff of the need for thorough hand washing and to stay home if they exhibit any symptoms.  The Canteen and our janitorial staff are firmly focused on areas that are likely to lead to any spread of infection.  We are aware of the risk of such outbreaks and are paying particular attention to the issue and Government advice.

Unless the situation changes significantly,  KGV will keep calm and carry on as normal, in good health.
