German speech festival

It was the German speech festival on Monday and a group of students took part.  I’ve attached a couple of photos and written some text below, which might be good for the school newsletter or website, or wherever this sort of thing goes.  I was told that you co-ordinate this sort of thing, but if that’s not the case, please let me know!

Monday 10 June saw the second annual German Sprachfest, a competition celebrating German culture through music, food and poetry.  A group of intrepid KGV students headed to Kellett School to perform and impressed the judges, Annette Frömel, lecturer in German at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Simon Voigt, Head of the Language Department at the Goethe Insitut Hong Kong, with their poetry recital.  All students were commended for their efforts and huge congratulations go to Hebe Hui and Barbara Lai, who won the Open Pairs competition with their interpretation of Der kleine Nimmersatt (Little Mr Never-Satisfied).  Gut gemacht!
