| A) Rainstorm Warning Signals
Amber:
§ Parents, students, school authorities should listen
to radio/TV announcements on weather conditions.
§ Candidates for public examinations attend as usual
but listen to radio/TV in case the weather deteriorates.
Red:
§ Classes will be suspended all day. Students stay at
home.
§ School premises are open.
§ Public examinations will continue.
§ If students have already set out for school, on arrival
there will be no normal classes, and students will remain
until it is safe to go home.
§ If school is in session, students remain until it
is safe to go home.
Black:
§ Everyone remains at home.
§ If school is in session, the above conditions apply.
School is closed all day, but a skeleton staff is required
in the event of students turning up to school.

Again, as with rain warnings, listen to radio/TV. If students
have already set out for school when the Number 8 is hoisted,
the school is responsible until arrangements have been made
for them to return home.
KGV has its contingency plans which are reviewed.
In the case of examinations, the Hong Kong Examinations Authority
will make announcements as they have local control of all
British examinations. If there is no announcement of postponement,
examinations run as usual.
