What is Spring Blossom?

To most people who stumble across this site, the words Spring Blossom bring up a vivid image in their minds of a tree with pink flowers that bloom in Spring. Spring Blossom, however, was also a project that was initiated in 1989 by the China Children and Teenager’s Fund (CCTF). This project has helped over 1.6 million girls, who come from families where the basic everyday needs, such as clean water and electricity, are scarce. Not surprisingly, these girls live also in places where proper education cannot be afforded.

KGV's Involvement

24 KGV senior students were chosen to participate in the 9th KGV Spring Blossom trip from the 27th of October to the 3rd of November, 2006. This one-week journey will be aimed at trying to provide the Spring Blossom girls with education that they do not have.

All of us are willing to wake up early on Saturday mornings to fine-tune our activities. All of us are determined to teach the Spring Blossom girls with the best of our abilities. But most importantly, all of us will be giving the girls hope, so that they may have the chance to, finally, spread their wings.
