How do I collate my information?
Here is a little known fact - research should take more time than writing the
coursework - a lot more time.
Collating your information should be FUN
and
easy as long as you follow these simple guidelines:-
- Do not plagiarize - you will be caught ( are you sick of me telling you
this!)
- Always make note of all the sources you've used and keep it safe.
- Use quotation marks for everything you copy directly from a source.
- Never highlight notes - ALWAYS make them in your own handwriting with
bullet points - this will make sure you avoid plagiarism
- Try and use a sensible amount of sources - there is such a thing as too
many - and too few!
- Try and research with friends, get together in small groups and make notes
individually from a variety of sources and then gather your information
together on large pieces of paper under "banner headings" - this
will ensure you enjoy gathering information and have a variety of sources
gathered in a much quicker time!
- Try and be adventurous in your sources - books and the internet are not
your only options - TV, film, interviews and magazines to name but a few are
great sources too!
