/Palestine.
Event to focus on:
The bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.
Your news report must
focus on the bombing of the hotel and the reasons behind it. This was a major
event and would have received lots of coverage, if CNN had existed then.
You should have the
following people in your ‘broadcast’:

anchor – this is the person at the desk who gives the initial report.
- Reporter
at the scene – describes what is happening
- People
you may wish to interview – eyewitnesses to the event, political leaders
who may wish to comment, experts on Arab/Israeli/British affairs who can
give background information
Background
information to include:
- Briefly
– the claims both groups have on the land
- Jewish
immigration to Palestine – why it started and why it increased – focus
on the 1930’s and the Jews fleeing Hitler.
- The
reaction by the Arabs to the Jews
- British
attempts to resolve the issue – especially their attempts to limit
immigration.
- Why
the Jews resorted to terror.
