The History and
Religious Studies Departments are offering to students (Years 9 and above) the
chance to take part in a trip to Eastern Europe, during the Chinese New Year
holidays of 2005. Students will visit Prague, Krakow and Berlin in order to
study in detail the historical events surrounding the Jewish Holocaust and World
War II, while exploring the religious question of the problem of evil. They
will, among other things, visit a Jewish Ghetto, see Schindler’s factory (from
the film) and have a guided coach excursion to Auschwitz and Birkenau.
The company
who would run the trip is called Key Stage Travel – they are a UK based
company that specialises in educational tours for schools. Students will be
accompanied at all times by members of the KGV staff, as well as the tour
operators.
The trip will cost $15,900 HKD. This price includes:
Ø airfare
Ø accommodation
Ø all meals
Ø additional outings
Ø visas
Ø entrance to sites
Ø
land travel (train)
It does not
include any additional money required by students for personal shopping.
The trip will leave Hong Kong on Friday 4th February and
return on the 13th February.
Places are limited so a deposit of $1000 is required to secure a position on the trip. This needs to be returned to Miss Foley or Mrs Tsui, along with the slip below, by Friday 15/10/04.
This will be the trip of a lifetime! Don’t miss it!!
