Clues....
Part b) style questions - worth 6 marks
1. There are three main attitudes in Christianity towards other religions (check page 57 in your text book). Make sure you explain each briefly. You have a number of Bible quotes as well as the quotes from Hick, Neill and Barth to learn here.
2. There are two main attitudes in Islam - although one is stronger than the other. Check out page 58 in your text - a quote from the Qur'an would be good here.
Jews have two big ideas -page 59 in your text book. The Nineveh story is good to include (this includes the quote from Jonah). You could stress that Jews don't try to convert others to Judaism but are willing to accept converts.
Hindus have one big idea (p59) so you need to learn this and write about it fairly comprehensively in order to get 6 marks. Learn one of the quotes for this (hint: Ghandi is easier to spell!)
Part c) style questions - worth 8 marks
1. Remember the key word is explain!!!! It is not enough to simply state the differences - you must say why different Christian groups believe these things. For this type of question you need proof of your opinions - quote some key Bible references or Church statements here. Check out pages 42-43 in your text book. Give both sides to the argument and mention different denominations.
Part d) style questions - worth 4 marks
‘It is wrong to try to convert other people to your religion’
Do you agree? Give reasons for your opinion, showing you have considered another point of view. In your answer, you should refer to at least one religion.
Introduction: Remember to ANSWER THE QUESTION!! Do you agree or not? Show you know there are TWO different opinions and mention the two religions you are going to look at.

This question is always worth the most marks so you should write the most for this one. Make sure you use relevant religious terminology and explain in detail the main ideas involved. You must look at 'why' religions follow this idea, rather than just explain the idea. |

You must give TWO sides to the argument here, use and EVALUATE quotes and references (Scriptures or others) and come to your own personal conclusion - do not 'sit on the fence' - take a side and try to prove why you are right! |
