Report on the KGV Equestrian Trip to the UK

Early in May this year KGV’s number 1 Equestrian team won the HK Interschools Equestrian Final at Lo Wu. The major prize for winning this competition was a week of training at the famous Ingestre Stables in Staffordshire in the UK. This is an amazing prize worth over $100,000 HKD. So in the very early hours of Sunday 17th June 4 KGV riders (Annabel Dyson, Rachel Mason, Zoe Koerber and Julie Bardin) boarded a flight for a 13 hour trip to Manchester airport where they were to get transport to Ingestre.

The six of us stayed at the Ingestre Lodge which is part of the riding stables and very convenient for each days riding. The accommodation was 5 star ensuring our stay was a very comfortable one.

All four riders had an amazing week improving their skills in riding. Each day comprised 3 x 1 hour sessions with the afternoons spent touring the local area. Both the horses and riding instructors at Ingestre were first class allowing the KGV riders to hone their skills.

Sadly the week went quickly but it was an experience that the four girls plus their coaches Mr and Mrs Grady will remember forever.
