KGV at the HK Model United Nations

KGV sent a delegation of 17 students to participate in the 30th Hong Kong Model United Nations (HKMUN) competition from the 19th to 21st of March. The students represented delegates from a variety of countries in several committees ranging from the African Union (AU) to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Over the three days, alliances were forged, resolutions were passed, and new friends were made.

HKMUN was an excellent opportunity for students to hone their public speaking skills and debating skills, engage with global issues, and experience an accurate simulation of international diplomacy. Although the competition did not rank school delegations, KGV students collectively won three awards, placing our delegation amongst the schools with the most winning students. The winning students were:

Chris Pang –   Most Improved Delegate (Committee: LegCo)

Matthew Heritage – Best Delegate (Committee: LegCo)

Joaquin Del Fierro and Dean Daswani – Honourable Mention (Committee: ECOSOC)
