Head of Senior School’s Message
Dear Parents,
I hope you all managed to spend some quality time with your families over the Easter break and the students managed to get some rest between their work/revision schedules. The First IB examination (Business Management) is now one week away as is the final day of formal lessons for year 11 students. I will be speaking to all year 11 students during period 4 next Friday after which they will be allowed to leave school to begin their study leave.
We have now said goodbye to our year 13 students following an enjoyable 3 days with them this week. There was a lot of creativity on Monday and Tuesday with their fancy dress costumes. On Wednesday they were served a cooked breakfast by the Senior Leadership Team and then had their ‘guard of honour’ parade along the front driveway, which was observed by the entire school community. This then led into their final assembly. The afternoon was then dominated by the Graduation Ceremony. This year each student received an individual graduate number printed on their own mortar board cap. Overall it was a very enjoyable, and at times emotional day.
The week beginning May 7th is the second Core Week for year 12 IB students. It will include the Group IV project for sciences, EE development work and ToK, Maths and English IA completion. There will also be CAS interviews taking place alongside these. May 7th is also when our Year 12 BTEC students begin their 2 weeks of work experience.
