Year 7 & 8 Helpers

 A Leadership opportunity for Senior School students.

An opportunity to lead fun activities both in school and out at camp!

BRIEF ITINERARY

All Year 7 & 8 students will be involved in a joint Challenge Week activity in 2010. To facilitate this and the numerous exciting activities we would like to run, we need Student Leaders who would be interested in promoting House activities and VTG ethos.

Do you

· Have proven Leadership skills or would like the opportunity to develop these skills?

· Do you like working with younger students?

· Could you think on your feet, take control and motivate groups of Year 7 & 8 students?

The role of a student leader is to be a motivator and supporter to the younger students. You will be expected to join in with all the activities and lead by example. Many of them are physical as well as mental challenges. There will be an element of House Competitions built into the week. If you are currently a Peer Support and/or House Captain, this would be an excellent opportunity for you to develop further links with those students you are already linked with.

There will an overnight camp, when all Student Leaders will be expected to stay and lead activities in the evening. Student Leaders will also be expected to pay towards the camp, as they too will be benefiting from the camp facilities.
Creativity – various activities to be devised by Student Leaders
Action – various activities to be devised by Student Leaders
Service – Senior students who enroll in this activity are expected to take a leadership role and thus will earn CAS credits.
