BRIEF ITINERARY

Are you a musician or singer who wants to develop as a performing artist?  Are you a media student who wants to experience production first hand?  If so, welcome to the Rock & Pop Academy.  Here, musicians and singers work with professionals to form their own bands, write their own material, rehearse, record and perform their songs.  Media students work with professionals to create concepts for a documentary and music video, learn camerawork, film bands, edit and produce a final edit of their film.

The Rock & Pop Academy is open to all levels: beginners to advanced.  It is open to musicians who play classical instruments and to vocalists who just want to sing.  CAS points are available for Year 12’s and 13’s.

Day One:

Music:  Introduction to course, music structure, lyrics, chords.  

Media:  Introduction to course, structure, workable concepts, camera work, filming.

Day Two:

Music:  Full day of song writing, rehearsals. 

Media:  Filming, concept development for documentary and music video.

Day Three: 

Music:  Recording in studio, rehearsals, interviews, filming. 

Media:  Location scouting, filming for music video, interviews, post-production.

Day Four: 

Music:  Rehearsals, inspiration, selling yourself, image and look. 

Media:  Continue production, draft cut

Day Five:

Music:  Performance skills, delivery, video/documentary evaluation, live performance. 

Media:  Final cut of documentary, evaluation, film live performance, produce DVD.
