twelfth Spring Blossom trip is going to Hubei. Spring Blossom is a
‘full on’ service trip which will involve working at a remote rural
school, visiting a rural clinic to present donated medical items, as well as,
exploring the locality which will allow for ‘outreach’
activities. Responsibilities involve producing a wide-ranging teaching
programme which includes promoting English usage, organising arts and crafts
projects, as well as, organising games activities. The group will also
produce their own Spring Blossom song and dance. These are important features
of the official ceremonies we are likely to meet with during our trip. Our group
will also be responsible for raising funds to purchase the medical supplies
which will be passed over to the medical centre we shall be visiting.
Spring
Blossom trips have a high expectation of exemplary standards of conduct, hard
work and commitment. Participants will find this venture challenging and hard
work but it is also a truly rewarding educational and personal experience.
Many students coming back from previous Spring Blossom trips have vowed that
this is the ‘best educational experience of my life’ Itinerary: DAY 1 - Sun, 11th Oct. - Arrive Yichang (Hubei Province) in the evening. Transfer to hotel. DAY 2 - Mon, 12th Oct. - Drive to Cai Fu Xi [3 hours] and tour of Tanzikou Scenic Area. Late afternoon drive [1 hour] to Wu Feng County. DAY 3 - Tues, 13th Oct. - Work at SB school [30 mins. away] at Yu Yuang Zhen town. DAY 4 - Wed, 14th Oct. - SB school DAY 5 - Thurs, 15th Oct. - SB school DAY 6 - Fri, 16th Oct. - Drive to Muyu Zhen Town [more than 5 hours] in Shennongjia area DAY 7 - Sat, 17th Oct. - Trekking tour in country park to Laojunshan - second highest and most beautiful peak in Shennongjia range (2,930 m) OVERNIGHT CAMP DAY 9 - Mon, 19th Oct. - Return to Yichang + Half day boat cruise along Yangtze River DAY 10 - Tues, 20th Oct. - Fly to HK
