Working as part of a team, we will start from scratch to create something exciting, innovative and fun: our very own performance! After some initial warm-up activities we’ll brainstorm ideas and begin to develop these to create our performance plans. We will then establish who will do what, who’s in charge of each component part, how the script will work and who will play which role! We will work (quickly and successfully) on: characterisation, line-learning, rehearsing, blocking, prop-development and performing. Our aims will be to think quickly on our feet, problem-solve and promote a team spirit to inspire us all to achieve our best. At the end of the week we’ll perform our play – in front of an audience!! Last year we performed for Kowloon Junior School. More
about Faust: Faust International was formed in 1999
to bring the world of theatre and performing arts to the young people of Hong
Kong . We aim to provide a fun-filled learning environment and those involved not only learn about theatre,
but also develop greater self-confidence
and an enhanced ability to work with others. Members are encouraged to work
with their peers, respect each other's work
and learn from their experiences. See their website for examples of their
activities (http://www.faustworld.com/)
Creativity – drama activities “The biggest learning experience for me, was working with
all the students. Helping out where needed, trying to understand what the
students needed help with and being helpful to other people. It made me more
aware of the responsibilities of an adult, and I thoroughly enjoyed the
experience and will hopefully try and work as a drama assistant again one
day. I may even consider working with younger students full time as a career.”
