Curriculum

All students in years 7-11 study a modern ICT curriculum, delivered by specialist teachers during 1 period per week.

The lessons focus on key information literacy skills and preparing students with skills required for the IB Diploma.

The skills learnt in ICT lessons are re-enforced across the curriculum through ICT enriched schemes of work.

Year 10 and 11 students complete an ePortfolio of evidence in support of the Edexcel Award in Digital Applications (http://dida.edexcel.org.uk/home/). This gives all students an opportunity to attain a recognised ICT qualification.

For interested students, there are opportunities to complete extra ICT study learning more advanced multimedia and programming skills in additional timetabled lessons after school.

Software Resources

Based on the moodle open source system, the school is custom developing LIONeL as its Learning Platform.

LIONeL integrates courseware with information management functionality to provide all staff with quality management data. For example, LIONeL is used for reporting and attendance/behaviour tracking.

Students and Parents are able to access appropriate information from within the LIONeL system.

Students have access to industry standard software throughout the school including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite 3.
